Jurassic Park brings to life Michael Crichton's novel, introducing the concept of cloning dinosaurs from DNA extracted from prehistoric mosquitoes trapped in amber. A daring entrepreneur, John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), envisions a dinosaur-filled theme park on Isla Nublar.
Paleontologist Alan Grant (Sam Neill), paleobotanist Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), and mathematician Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) visit the island to assess the park's safety. They're joined by Hammond's grandchildren, Lex and Tim Murphy. A tropical storm and sabotage disrupt the park's systems, releasing the dinosaurs and turning the tour into a harrowing escape from velociraptors and a Tyrannosaurus rex.

Set and released four years after the original, The Lost World: Jurassic Park sees the return of Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) and John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), joined by paleontologist Sarah Harding (Julianne Moore).
This installment takes place on Isla Sorna, another island where Hammond cloned dinosaurs. Left to their own devices after the island's abandonment, the dinosaurs thrive. A corporate power struggle over InGen leads two factions to the island: one led by Hammond's nephew, Peter Ludlow (Arliss Howard), aiming to exploit the dinosaurs for profit, and another, including Malcolm and Harding, who seek to establish a nature preserve.
Amid territorial dinosaurs, the two factions clash, resulting in thrilling chases and fatalities. Ludlow's group captures a T-Rex, which escapes in San Diego, causing chaos. Malcolm and Harding attempt a non-lethal recapture.
