For the longest time, Furnace was one of those Clash Royale cards you’d forget even existed. It was just a passive little building on the map, spitting out Fire Spirits every few seconds while you waited around for something more exciting to happen.
In Season 74, which has kicked off today, Supercell has decided that enough is enough. The Furnace has officially been pulled out of retirement and given a rebirth in Clash Royale. It’s not reborn as a building, but as a moving, attacking troop.
It’s a second life for one of the game’s oldest cards. The Goblin Hut went through a rework in a similar spirit and became more reactive. But unlike other times, Supercell has taken Furnace and reimagined it entirely. It’s more about staying active on the field now.
While it still is a 4-Elixir Rare card and still spawns Fire Spirits, everything else is different. The Furnace now walks. It attacks from range. It can target air and ground units, dealing single-target damage from six tiles away.
Furnace is also getting an evolution called Hot Spawns. Instead of spawning a Fire Spirit every 5 seconds like the old Furnace, Hot Spawns cuts that interval down to just 1.8 seconds. And the Spirits alternate, which increases coverage and damage potential.

What do you think about Furnace being back in Clash Royale? -----------------------------------------------------------For August, Furnace is the face of the season. It’s featured in the game’s loading screen, with new card art, a fresh frame design, and an updated character image.
Meanwhile, Season 74 also brings in a long list of balance changes. Multiple cards are getting nerfed, like Dagger Duchess, Royal Chef, Spear Goblins, Miner, Evolved Skeleton Barrel, Rage, Cannoneer, Evolved Dart Goblin, and Dart Goblin.
On the other end, Spirit Empress, Phoenix, Zappies, Golem, and Minions are receiving buffs. A handful of cards are also going through reworks. To experience all of this, grab the game from the Google Play Store.
