Honor of Kings Announces $3M 2025 Esports World Cup

The 2025 Esports World Cup is poised to be a defining moment for mobile esports. With PUBG Mobile, Free Fire, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang already confirmed, this summer's event in Riyadh features elite competition and substantial prize money. The excitement grows with the addition of Honor of Kings, and its commitment is significant.

As part of a new three-year agreement with the EWC, the Honor of Kings World Cup returns with a $3 million prize pool and a revamped format designed to include more teams and heightened competition. The action begins on July 15th and continues through July 26th, showcasing 18 international teams, including top contenders from the King Pro League and Asian Champions League.

The tournament starts with a Group Stage of 16 teams divided into four double-elimination groups. Only the winner from each group advances directly to the Playoffs, while the runners-up enter a Last Chance bracket to compete for the final two spots.

Matches in these early phases will be best-of-three and best-of-five series, culminating in the Playoffs where the champions of the KPL and ACL await. The culminating stage, scheduled for August 16th, will employ a best-of-seven format, complete with a third-place match.

Qualifiers for this year's World Cup are already in full swing.
