Hearthstone has unveiled details for its highly anticipated Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, launching January 21st. This expansion, the largest in Hearthstone history, features 49 new cards—a blend of class cards, multi-class StarCraft faction cards, and a single neutral Legendary.
Initially teased during the Warcraft Direct on November 13, 2024, Heroes of StarCraft marks a crossover between Hearthstone and StarCraft. While initially only basic information was available, a full reveal has now arrived.
The 49 cards are distributed as follows: three cards per Hearthstone class, five faction-specific cards per StarCraft race (one of which is a Legendary), and one neutral Legendary card, Grunty. Several cards have already been showcased, with further reveals planned in the week leading up to the launch.
The Zerg cards (for Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock) focus on summoning Zerglings and leveraging Hydralisks for swarm-based damage. Protoss cards (for Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue) center around mana manipulation and powerful late-game plays. Finally, Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior players gain access to enhanced Starship mechanics from The Great Dark Beyond expansion.
The expanded card count comes with a slightly higher price point. While obtainable through The Great Dark Beyond packs, a full set costs $20 (2500 gold), or $80 (12,000 gold) for the golden version. Individual faction packs (Protoss, Terran, or Zerg) are available for $10 (1200 gold).
To celebrate the launch, Hearthstone is hosting two streamed events: StarCast (January 23rd, 10 AM PST) featuring TrumpSC and Day9, and HearthCraft (January 24th, 9 AM PST) showcasing community creators. Viewers can earn in-game rewards by tuning in on Twitch.
