In the world of *Phasmophobia*, tackling the most elusive ghosts can often require a bit of daring, and that's where Cursed Possessions come into play. Among these, the Haunted Mirror stands out as a particularly useful tool, albeit one that comes with its own risks. Here's how to harness its power effectively.

How to Use the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

The Haunted Mirror is often considered the safest Cursed Object in *Phasmophobia*, offering rewards that significantly outweigh its risks. Its functionality has remained consistent through numerous game updates, making it a valuable asset during your ghost-hunting expeditions. If you encounter the Haunted Mirror, it's highly recommended to make use of it.

The Haunted Mirror provides a panoramic view of the ghost's current favorite room or area on the map. This feature is incredibly useful for quickly pinpointing the ghost's location, especially if you're familiar with the map's layout. It allows you to set up your equipment swiftly, before the situation escalates.

You can find the Haunted Mirror typically hanging on a wall, such as in 6 Tanglewood Drive, or lying on the floor in its predetermined location. While Cursed Objects always spawn in the same spots on each map, the specific object that appears is randomized.

To utilize the Haunted Mirror, simply pick it up and use the appropriate button (whether on mouse or controller) to hold it up. The reflection will reveal the ghost's current favorite room. Keep in mind, on Professional difficulty or higher, the ghost can move to a different area after some time.

However, caution is advised: staring into the Haunted Mirror for too long will drain your sanity. Prolonged use will cause the mirror to shatter, triggering a Cursed Hunt at your location. Therefore, it's crucial to use it when your sanity is high and to quickly interpret what you see in the reflection.

What are Cursed Objects (Possessions) in Phasmophobia?

Cursed Possessions, commonly referred to as "Cursed Objects," are unique items in *Phasmophobia* that appear randomly across various maps, influenced by difficulty settings or Challenge Mode participation. Unlike regular equipment, which helps locate ghosts and gather evidence with minimal risk, Cursed Objects serve as high-risk shortcuts to manipulate ghost behavior.

The safety of using these objects varies based on their specific abilities, and it's up to you and your team to decide whether to engage with them. There's no penalty for choosing not to use them. Typically, only one Cursed Possession will spawn per contract, though this can be altered in Custom settings.

The game features seven different Cursed Objects:

  • Summoning Circle
  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw
