In the thrilling world of *Monster Hunter Wilds*, where the focus is often on tackling the largest and most fearsome creatures, there's a unique challenge that requires you to hunt for the smallest. If you're aiming to unlock the "I Caught a Shooting Star" trophy/achievement, here's your comprehensive guide to achieve it.

The 'I Caught a Shooting Star!' hidden trophy/achievement is unique due to its simplicity yet elusiveness. It's easy to miss if you're not specifically looking for it. To unlock this achievement, you need to capture a rare endemic life called the **Sandstar** in the **Windward Plains**. This tiny creature, resembling a desert mouse with shimmering fur, can only be found at night in a specific area of the region.

Given that you typically explore the Windward Plains during the day throughout the game's story, you'll need to wait until nightfall. Here are two effective ways to pass time:

  • Fast Travel – Available early in the game once you unlock different fast travel points in the Windward Plains. Use your interactive map, navigate to the fast travel menu, and travel between points to advance time until nightfall.
  • Rest – This option becomes available after completing Chapter 3 and unlocking high-rank content. You can rest at a base or pop-up camp, using your Guild Points to choose the time of day (Morning, Daytime, Evening, or Nighttime) and environmental conditions (No Change, Fallow, Plenty, or Inclemency).

The Sandstar is not only small but also incredibly swift, outpacing even a Seikret at full sprint. To increase your chances of catching it, gather **Screamer Pods** before the hunt. These can be collected from **Baunos**, small winged monsters with red bodies found in the Windward Plains. They roam in groups around **Area 11** and **Area 13**, scavenging for carcasses. Taking out a few Baunos will yield the Screamer Pods you need.

Once it's night in the Windward Plains, head to the midpoint between Area 11 and Area 13. Keep your eyes peeled for the Sandstar. When you spot it, chase it at full speed and, if you have them, use your Screamer Pods to stun it. Immediately after stunning the Sandstar, switch to your **Capture Net** (used for fishing as well) and throw it to capture the creature. Upon successful capture, the 'I Caught a Shooting Star!' trophy/achievement will unlock, and you'll receive the **Ribbon Dream: Amber** nameplate for your Hunter Profile.

That's everything you need to know to secure the "I Caught a Shooting Star" trophy/achievement in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. Be sure to explore our other guides, including how to skip cutscenes, to enhance your gaming experience further.
