Microsoft is set to bring Rockstar Games' blockbuster Grand Theft Auto 5 to Xbox Game Pass, along with the GTA 5 Enhanced edition for PC Game Pass, starting April 15. This exciting addition to the Wave 1 April 2025 lineup was unveiled in an Xbox Wire post, highlighting that the service's most significant title for the month is just around the corner. The PC Game Pass version of GTA 5 is particularly appealing as it includes the recently released Enhanced update from Rockstar in early March.
"No matter which version you’re playing, everyone will have access to Oscar Guzman Flies Again, the latest update where you can take to the skies—taking control of the McKenzie Field Hanger in Grapeseed," an official Xbox description explained. "Engage in new arms trafficking missions, pilot new aircraft, and more."
The game's addition to Game Pass after just two Tuesdays marks a victorious return for Rockstar’s open-world masterpiece, which was previously removed from the service. However, the excitement is tempered for some dedicated GTA fans, as the GTA 5 Enhanced update, released on PC on March 4, has brought new vehicles, performance upgrades in Hao’s Special Works, animal encounters, and visual enhancements. Yet, this update also led to GTA 5 receiving Rockstar’s worst reviews on Steam due to persistent account migration issues affecting players' ability to transfer their GTA Online profiles to the new version.
Newcomers to Los Santos should have a smooth experience, but returning players hoping to migrate their accounts to the Enhanced upgrade may face challenges, as the account migration issues remain unresolved.
