The beloved survival horror classics, Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2, have been resurrected and are now available on PC through GOG. These cult favorites from the PlayStation era are brought back to life via GOG's Preservation Program, ensuring they are DRM-free and maintain their original content. Capcom initially released Dino Crisis in 1999 for the PlayStation, followed by Dino Crisis 2 in 2000. Although Dino Crisis 3 saw a release in 2003 exclusively for the original Xbox, fans have been left waiting for any new developments in the series since then.
Despite the fanbase's persistent calls for a new entry or an HD remake, Capcom has shown little interest in reviving the franchise. The announcement of Exoprimal in 2022, a multiplayer action game involving dinosaurs, was interpreted by many as the final sign that a new Dino Crisis game was unlikely. Moreover, the creator of Dino Crisis, Shinji Mikami, stated last year that the popularity of Capcom's Monster Hunter series might be overshadowing any potential reboot or remake of the beloved PlayStation title.
Previously, the PC ports of the first two Dino Crisis games were hard to come by and challenging to operate on modern systems. GOG's efforts to make these games accessible and functional on contemporary hardware are highly appreciated. GOG stated, "Thanks to the tremendous efforts of Capcom and GOG, Regina’s iconic line, 'You’re extinct!' no longer applies to the game itself. The timeless thriller that defined a generation of gamers is made to last forever, enhanced for today’s systems, featuring all the original content you loved with numerous improvements."

These votes help GOG demonstrate community interest to IP owners, potentially leading to more beloved titles being brought back to life on their platform.
