The 2024 LEGO Ideas review cycle has concluded, selecting two fan-designed creations for official release: a striking Godzilla model and a Tintin Rocket.
A recent LEGO Ideas blog post confirmed that the Godzilla set, proposed by MattE720 in December 2023, is now greenlit for production. While details like design, pricing, and launch date remain undisclosed, this marks the first-ever LEGO set for Godzilla enthusiasts, expected to hit shelves soon.

This is LEGO’s debut Godzilla set. While the final product will differ from the fan submission, it draws heavily from MattE720’s design, inspired by modern Godzilla portrayals in films like Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
Though the piece count is unconfirmed, the design appears substantial. Given LEGO’s history with large-scale dinosaur sets, like the 3.5ft T. Rex, this Godzilla build is likely aimed at adult collectors, targeting the 18+ demographic.
Out June 1, 2025

Every LEGO Ideas set begins as a fan concept. Once a submission garners 10,000 supporters, it enters a rigorous review process. A key challenge is securing intellectual property rights, making standalone ideas like a Tuxedo Cat simpler to approve than those tied to major franchises.
Beyond the newly approved sets, several exciting LEGO Ideas are under review, including a Monsters, Inc. - Boo’s Door Set, Planet Express Headquarters, and even a nostalgic Clippy from Microsoft Office.
