Sony and game developer Santa Monica Studio have unveiled the highly anticipated Dark Odyssey collection, a thrilling update for God of War Ragnarök that will be available to players next week. This update introduces a range of in-game equipment inspired by one of the franchise's most iconic outfits, promising to enhance the gaming experience for all God of War Ragnarök enthusiasts.
In a comprehensive PlayStation.Blog post, Sony outlined the exciting plans for the God of War 20th anniversary, with the Dark Odyssey collection taking center stage. This free update, set to launch on March 20, will be accessible to all God of War Ragnarök players on PlayStation 5 and PC. The collection boasts a sleek, black-and-gold aesthetic that will elevate Kratos and his companions' appearances as they navigate the realms of Norse mythology. Both Atreus and Freya will receive their own unique cosmetic sets, along with an array of stylish options for the player's shields and weapons.
The highlight of the Dark Odyssey collection is undoubtedly the new appearance and armor set for Kratos, reminiscent of a legendary skin previously exclusive to players who conquered God of War 2 on God Mode difficulty. This coveted set, including the Dark Odyssey Breastplate, Bracers, and Belt, can be claimed from any Lost Items chest in the base game or directly in the roguelike Valhalla mode post-update. Additionally, the update introduces a much-requested feature: the ability to customize the appearance of Kratos' weapons without compromising their abilities.
