Revue Starlight Re LIVE, the mobile game based on the popular anime, is officially ending its service. The game's servers will shut down on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC, marking the end of nearly six years on Android.
The announcement of the game's end-of-service (EOS) isn't entirely unexpected. Over its lifespan, Revue Starlight Re LIVE faced challenges including repetitive events, reused assets, and costly battle passes, contributing to its underwhelming performance. Storyline choices, such as the abrupt shift from The Giraffe character arc, also negatively impacted player engagement. This closure affects the global player base, including Japan.
Despite its shortcomings, the game boasted positive aspects. Its soundtrack, featuring music from the anime, and high-quality 3D graphics and Live2D animations were noteworthy strengths.
While its time is limited, players still have several weeks to enjoy the game before its closure. Developers are launching farewell events throughout August and September, including a "Thank You For Everything" campaign offering ten free daily pulls and a two-month birthday celebration featuring two "New Stage Girl Gacha" events each month. Interested players can download the game from the Google Play Store for a final experience. For other gaming news, check out the upcoming Android release of Netflix's The Dragon Prince: Xadia.
