FromSoftware has kicked off the excitement for Elden Ring Nightreign by sending out confirmation emails for their eagerly awaited Network Test. Dive in to discover all you need to know about the test and the unfortunate scams that are already circulating around it.
FromSoftware took to their Twitter (X) account on January 30, 2025, to announce that confirmation emails for the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test have been dispatched. Fans who were lucky enough to be selected are buzzing with excitement and are quick to share their confirmation emails, expressing their gratitude to FromSoftware.
If you're among those who received an email, mark your calendar for February 11, 2025. That's when you'll get a follow-up email containing a unique code to download the Network Test client on your preferred platform, whether it's PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.
Registration for the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test was open from January 10, 2025, to January 20, 2025. If you applied but didn't get an email, unfortunately, there's no word yet on additional test dates.
FromSoftware describes the network test as a "preliminary verification test in which the selected testers play a portion of the game prior to the full game launch." This test aims to conduct large-scale network load tests to verify the online systems' capabilities and ensure the servers can handle multiple players at once.
The Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test is scheduled from February 14 to February 16, 2025. Participants can join five 3-hour test sessions:
Be wary—scammers are already preying on eager fans. Reports indicate a scam on Steam where players receive an invite for the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test. Clicking on these invites can lead to suspicious pages that may hack your account and spam your friends list with the same invite. Remember, FromSoftware only uses their official website and social media for registration and confirmations, so steer clear of any external links.
Scalpers are also jumping on the bandwagon, with listings appearing on various buy-and-sell sites shortly after FromSoftware's announcement. These "confirmed test codes" are being sold at exorbitant prices ranging from $150 to $200, with some even listed for auction, despite the codes not being available until February 11.
Elden Ring Nightreign was first revealed at The Game Awards 2024 and is slated for release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. While FromSoftware has confirmed a 2025 release window, no specific date has been announced yet.
