The highly anticipated open world survival MMO, *Dune: Awakening*, inspired by Frank Herbert's iconic sci-fi novels and Denis Villeneuve's films, has been postponed to June 10, 2025. Developer Funcom made the announcement, adding that eager fans who opt for the Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition can dive into the game earlier on June 5.

Funcom explained that the delay stems from feedback received during their Persistent Closed Beta. The extra time will allow the team to refine the game further, incorporating changes and suggestions from the beta phase. Additionally, this delay paves the way for a large-scale beta weekend next month, offering more players a chance to experience *Dune: Awakening* and provide feedback.
While the delay might be disappointing for some fans eager to explore Arrakis, Funcom is set to host a combat livestream today at 12pm ET/9am PT. This stream will delve into the game's PvP and PvE mechanics, archetypes, and skills, giving fans a deeper look at what to expect.
Here at IGN, we're thrilled about *Dune: Awakening*. Our hands-on preview stated, "It's easy to be skeptical about an MMO survival game set in the Dune universe, but after a few bouts of dehydration and sunstroke, the day I spent in Arrakis convinced me that *Dune: Awakening* is one to watch."
