Doctor Doom 2099 is a 4-cost, 2-power card with a unique ability: "After each turn, add a DoomBot 2099 to a random location if you played (exactly) 1 card."

DoomBot 2099s (also 4-cost, 2-power) have their own ability: “Ongoing: Your other DoomBots and Doom have +1 Power.” Crucially, this buff applies to both DoomBot 2099s and regular Doctor Doom cards.

The key is playing exactly one card per turn. Early placement of Doom 2099 can yield three DoomBot 2099s, significantly boosting power. Combining this with Doctor Doom on the final turn further amplifies the effect. Effectively, Doom 2099 can act as a 17-power card under ideal conditions, with even greater potential through strategic card play or Magik's turn extension.

However, two drawbacks exist. DoomBot 2099 placement is random, potentially hindering your strategy. Furthermore, Enchantress (recently buffed) completely negates DoomBot 2099's power boost.

Doom 2099's one-card-per-turn requirement synergizes well with Spectrum Ongoing decks. Here's an example:

Ant-Man, Goose, Psylocke, Captain America, Cosmo, Electro, Doom 2099, Wong, Klaw, Doctor Doom, Spectrum, Onslaught. [Untapped Deck Link]

This budget-friendly deck features only Doom 2099 as a Series 5 card. Strategies involve early Doom 2099 placement using Psylocke or Electro, maximizing power spread through Wong, Klaw, and Doctor Doom. Electro allows for powerful plays with Onslaught and Spectrum. Flexibility is key; if early Doom 2099 placement fails, the deck can adapt to alternative win conditions. Cosmo protects against Enchantress.

Another viable approach utilizes a Patriot-style strategy:

Ant-Man, Zabu, Dazzler, Mister Sinister, Patriot, Brood, Doom 2099, Super Skrull, Iron Lad, Blue Marvel, Doctor Doom, Spectrum. [Untapped Deck Link]

Again, this is a relatively inexpensive deck (only Doom 2099 is Series 5). Early-game cards like Mister Sinister and Brood set the stage for Doom 2099, followed by Blue Marvel and Doctor Doom or Spectrum. Zabu helps play 4-cost cards early if the Patriot strategy falters. This deck offers flexibility; you can skip DoomBot 2099 generation to play two 3-cost cards like Patriot and a discounted Iron Lad on the final turn. However, it's highly vulnerable to Enchantress, necessitating Super Skrull for counterplay.

Is Doctor Doom 2099 Worth the Investment?

While Daken and Miek (released alongside Doom 2099) are weak, Doctor Doom 2099 himself is a valuable acquisition. His power and deck-building flexibility make him a meta staple. Use Collector's Tokens if available; don't miss out on this potentially game-changing card. Unless nerfed, he'll likely be remembered as one of Marvel Snap's best.

These are some of the best Doctor Doom 2099 decks in Marvel Snap.
