In *NieR: Automata*, certain materials are more abundant than others, yet they are crucial for a wide range of upgrades. If you're aiming to enhance multiple weapons, you'll find yourself in need of vast quantities of these resources. One such common yet essential material is Dented Plates, which are required in large numbers for various upgrades. Although they may seem plentiful, there are efficient methods to farm them, ensuring you have enough for all your upgrade needs.

Where To Farm Dented Plates In NieR: Automata

Dented Plates are frequently dropped by the following machines:

  • Small Biped (All Variants)
  • Small Flyer (All Variants)
  • Small Sphere (All Variants)

These basic enemies are among the most common you'll encounter throughout any playthrough or chapter you revisit. However, simply respawning enemies by fast traveling and roaming around isn't the most effective way to gather materials quickly. The optimal location for farming Dented Plates is the pit where you first encounter Adam during the story.

To reach this spot, fast-travel to the Desert: Housing Complex access point, then proceed deeper into the ruins until you reach the pit. Here, machines will continuously spawn as you defeat them, with numerous basic Bipeds being the most common enemy type. These enemies might be at a lower level depending on when you're farming, but they still offer a good drop rate for Dented Plates. This location is also excellent for farming Titanium Alloy if you need that as well.

If you prefer not to farm in a single location, the Forest Kingdom is another viable option. It's filled with groups of Bipeds that form spear-wielding phalanxes, and these groups typically drop at least one Dented Plate. Traversing the forest also increases your chances of encountering wildlife, which is perfect for obtaining Beast Hide. Higher-level Bipeds have an increased chance of dropping Dented Plates, so advancing through the story will not only bring you into contact with more Bipeds but also higher-level ones, thereby improving your odds of obtaining these plates.

To further boost your drop rates, consider equipping drop-rate up plug-in chips. Just be cautious not to die and lose these chips permanently.
