Deltarune's Secret "SPECIAL ROOM" Unveils Exclusive Switch 2 Feature

Deltarune is set to offer exciting exclusive features for its Switch 2 version, making it a must-have for fans of the series. Announced during the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, the game will not only include Chapters 3 and 4 but also introduce unique gameplay elements tailored for the next-gen console.

Special Room and More Exclusively for Switch 2

One of the standout features for the Switch 2 version of Deltarune is a special room designed to utilize the new mouse functionality of the Joy-Cons. Toby Fox, the game's developer, shared in a Fangamer newsletter, "So, we made a very small SPECIAL ROOM which takes advantage of using MOUSE CONTROLS ON TWO CONTROLLERS AT ONCE, only possible on the Nintendo Switch 2!!" This innovative feature promises to enhance the gameplay experience in a way that's unique to the Switch 2.

For those playing on other devices, the special room will still be accessible but with an alternative control scheme. Additionally, players can seamlessly import their save files from the Nintendo Switch demo of Deltarune 1 and 2, ensuring a smooth transition to the new version.

Deltarune Future Chapters Will Be Free

In a significant update, Toby Fox confirmed that Deltarune will be priced at $24.99, including Chapters 1 through 4. Initially released for free, Chapters 1 and 2 were followed by announcements that future chapters (3-5) would be paid content. However, Fox has now announced a change in plans, stating that upcoming chapters will be added as free updates. This means players need only purchase the game once to enjoy all future content at no additional cost. Fox expressed his hope that players would feel the game offers exceptional value, saying, "But, it's my hope that as we complete more Chapters, you'll feel like this game was a super super super super good deal."

The game's soundtrack will also be available separately on Steam for $14.99, featuring over 150 songs from Chapters 3 and 4, with additional songs from future chapters added for free. This move ensures that Deltarune provides not just great gameplay but also an enriching auditory experience, making every penny spent feel worthwhile.

Deltarune Chapters 1-4 are scheduled for release on June 5, 2025, coinciding with the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. The game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
