Deltarune's Console Testing Going Smoothly

Saves Eventually Can Be Transferred To The Main Game

Toby Fox recently took to his Bluesky account to update fans on the progress of Deltarune's console testing. Despite the ongoing workload, Fox remains optimistic, stating, "Still console testing. There are fewer bugs, but there's a lot to go through. (Haven't even tested PS5 yet)." He also shared that the team is diligently working on a feature that will allow players to transfer their saves from the demo (Chapters 1 and 2) to the full game on console versions. "I hope it works!" Fox added, highlighting the recent acquisition of the necessary technology to make this possible.

With the beta testing showing promising results, the release of Deltarune's Chapters 3 and 4 is anticipated sometime in 2025, as confirmed by Fox himself.

Fox Namedrops New Character, Tenna

Despite the intense focus on finalizing Chapters 3 and 4, Toby Fox continues to engage with fans through amusing mini-updates. Known for his witty use of internet memes and self-deprecating humor, Fox shared a humorous anecdote about a minigame he's been working on for Deltarune. "I showed my family and friends a minigame I've been working on for DR (Deltarune) and they all described it as ‘a cry for help because your game is not out’," Fox posted on social media. While his family found it amusing, his friend couldn't stop laughing for about 10 minutes.

This revelation sparked speculation among fans, especially since Fox mentioned in 2024 that Chapters 3 and 4 were content-complete. Some believe this minigame might be a sneak peek into Chapter 5, as Deltarune is planned to have a total of seven chapters.

In the same post, Fox also mentioned a character named Tenna, saying, "Same friend who played Chapter 3 like over a year ago also told me ‘I miss Tenna’ and I was like ‘man that's something no one in the world has ever said huh’." Tenna, a character yet to be officially revealed in Deltarune, was first introduced during the Spamton Sweepstakes campaign for the Child’s Play charity in September 2022. Fox's mention of Tenna confirms her inclusion in the upcoming Chapter 3.

Deltarune serves as a parallel narrative and successor to the 2015 hit Undertale, retaining many of its mechanics and charm while introducing a fresh storyline and new characters. Players will join Kris, Susie, and Ralsei on an epic quest to save the world.
