Previously, Hideo Kojima publicly thanked actress Shiori Kutsuna for concluding her work on Death Stranding 2 with a floral gift.

Kojima expressed his gratitude, noting Kutsuna's dedication throughout motion capture sessions in Los Angeles, multilingual voice recordings, and 3D scanning work—all completed during pandemic restrictions.

"Outstanding performance—thank you!" wrote Kojima. Reports indicate Kutsuna has been involved with the project since fall 2022.

During Tokyo Game Show 2024, Kojima unveiled key materials from Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Several two-minute cinematic sequences revealed the protagonist's core companions.

The footage introduced George Miller as Captain Tarman, commander of the Magellan mobile base navigating tar seas. Fatih Akin plays Dollman, a former medium now trapped in doll form. Léa Seydoux reprises her role as Fragile.

Elle Fanning portrays the mysterious Tomorrow, discovered in an otherworldly zone resembling the afterlife—a clever nod to the original game's "Tomorrow is in your hands" tagline.

One memorable cutscene features the cast performing "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" while interacting with Rainy (Shioli Kutsuna), a pregnant woman central to the narrative.
