Crunchyroll Scores Stylish Samurai Showdown

Crunchyroll Game Vault has just enriched its mobile library with a significant new entry: the one-hit-kill 2D fighter, Two Strikes. Renowned for its tense, minimalist combat, the game offers a duel of high-stakes elegance. This launch also features a special bonus for players.

What is the story behind Two Strikes?

You assume the role of a warrior where a single, well-placed strike determines victory or defeat. The game is set in a fictionalized 1568 Japan during the Sengoku period, as Oda Nobunaga's forces march toward Kyoto.

Caught in an endless cycle of bloodshed are samurai, warrior monks, peasants, and outlaws. To resolve this, Shinigami, the God of Death, has created a tournament for souls who died consumed by vengeance.

These spirits now battle for a chance to return to the mortal world and resume their violent quests, with the ultimate victor earning the title of the God of Death's Champion. You can select from eight unique warriors: Kenji, Tomoe, Hozoin, Goemon, Yasuke, Ayai, Miyo, and Shenyan.

Crunchyroll: Two Strikes features stark ink-brush black-and-white visuals, deeply inspired by traditional Japanese art, paired with fluid animation that makes every duel a visual spectacle. Watch the game in action below.

Gameplay centers on mastering your weapon, anticipating your opponent's moves, and delivering that one perfect blow. Success depends on tactics like feinting, parrying, and smart positioning. Enjoy matches in local multiplayer, online cross-platform battles, or solo against AI opponents.

A special launch surprise in Crunchyroll: Two Strikes

The mobile release includes an exclusive addition: Baki Hanma from the popular anime series makes his debut as a playable fighter. He arrives with his own unique stage and an original music track composed by Ben Hung.

However, this character is a limited-time exclusive for the Crunchyroll Game Vault version, available only until August 28. If you're a Crunchyroll subscriber, be sure to download Two Strikes from the Google Play Store right away.
