Mobile developer AppSir consistently delivers experiences worth your attention. Whether it's our enthusiastic review of Spooky Pixel Hero or their other creations, their indie games consistently hit that sweet spot of distinctive fun. Their latest title, Climb Knight, absolutely continues this trend!

You might be thinking, "Haven't you already covered Climb Knight?" Indeed, we have, and we gave it a quite positive review. Interestingly, the team at AppSir was genuinely taken aback by the warm reception Climb Knight received. To celebrate, they've announced a major free update arriving on February 25th.

So what does this update include? Players can look forward to three additional one-bit minigames and a peculiar new advisor character inspired by Apple Newton shareware. Knowing AppSir's style, I suspect there are deeper layers to this advisor and the new gameplay mechanics than what's immediately apparent.

AppSir demonstrates how a dedicated indie developer can break the mold and find success on mobile platforms. While I wouldn't label them the New Blood of smartphone gaming, their spooky, retro-themed catalog shares some compelling similarities with the excellent Faith trilogy.
