If you pre-ordered Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you're in for a treat with the exclusive bonus quest, The Lion’s Crest. This guide will walk you through how to start and complete this exciting adventure.
Once you've navigated through the tutorial section of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and gained access to the expansive open world, head to Troskowitz and speak with the scribe Gaibl. He will set you on the path of The Lion’s Crest by providing you with a riddle and the smithing recipe for Brunswick’s polearm. You'll need to gather the materials yourself, but crafting the weapon at the blacksmith’s forge is a crucial step in your journey.
The riddle you'll need to solve is as follows:
“Take your leave of crone and maiden, standing tall behind the gates, boldly go towards true midnight, in caverns cold your prize awaits. Pass through the hall of forest kings, hidden deep from hunters’ gaze, standing tall two guards of stone, behind who yearned for treasure lays. Between then stands a mighty rock, a subtle niche yet deeper still, a place to give one’s heart to God, behold my armour gleaming still.”
To decipher this, head to Trosky Castle where you'll find the Crone Tower and Maiden Tower. Exit the castle through the northern gates and continue northwards into the forest.
Follow the road, keeping an eye on the left side. You'll soon notice rocky formations with crevices you can navigate through. Enter these and proceed to a cave where a chapel awaits. Examine the cross on the rock beside the chapel to discover the first piece of Brunswick’s Armour, accompanied by two treasure maps to guide you further in the quest.
Using the first treasure map, continue westward on the road that brought you to the chapel. At the crossroads, veer north into the woods until you reach a wolf den. Search the trees just above the den to find a bag containing the second piece of Brunswick’s armour.
The second map directs you to the outpost at Vidlak Pond. Follow the path behind the fisherman’s house and watch for a large rock formation along the cliffs. Climb to the rocks and locate a chest next to a cross, where the next piece of armour awaits.
For the third map, fast travel to Zhelejov and head to the tavern before exiting the settlement. Cross two bridges towards Tachov, but after the second, take a small path leading to the river and forest. Follow it to a hill topped with a large tree. Examine the tree to find some bones and a bag with the armour.
The final map takes you to a hill between the Nomads’ Camp and Bozhena’s Hut. On the hill, look for rocks topped with a cross to claim the last piece of Brunswick’s armour.
