Tony Hawk has clarified that Bam Margera's inclusion in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 came through a request rather than a demand. Continue reading to learn about Margera's last-minute addition and what's next for the iconic skating franchise.

Tony Hawk's personal request led to Bam Margera's late addition to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 (THPS3+4), though the skateboarding legend denies pressuring Activision. In a July 1 interview with Polygon, Hawk explained he called in a favor to include Margera.
Following March's roster reveal, fans expressed disappointment at Margera's absence, given his iconic status in the franchise from THPS 3 through the Underground series.

While no official explanation was given for the initial omission, Margera's well-documented personal challenges may have factored in. Hawk, recognizing his friend's recent progress, strongly advocated for his inclusion.
The skating legend clarified: "I'm not dictating game decisions, but after reconnecting with Bam and seeing him in a good place with his skating, I made the request." Hawk expressed gratitude that Activision accommodated this last-minute addition.
Fans will also recognize returning secret character Officer Dick, voiced by Jack Black. As revealed June 26, Black brings back his signature character alongside new U.K. counterpart Constable Richard.
Game Director Kurt Tillmanns told Variety about building on THPS1+2's successful cameo: "We loved Jack's previous appearance and wanted to continue that tradition." Iron Galaxy expanded Officer Dick's role, with Tillmanns explaining: "Now he's escalated to campus security sheriff at a college - we're thrilled Jack embraced this expansion."

With classic skaters returning and fan demand growing, Activision might consider revisiting the Underground series. Hawk acknowledges the enthusiasm, stating he'd support whatever makes players happy, but wants to offer more than nostalgia.
"Updating with new characters, tricks, and levels excites me most," Hawk emphasized about potential future projects.

Between Margera's return and Underground remake requests, nostalgia may revive the narrative-driven series. For now, players can look forward to THPS3+4's launch in a week.
