"Avatar: Seven Havens Announced Post-Legend of Korra"

It's official: fans of the beloved Avatar universe have something new to look forward to! Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios have announced a thrilling new addition to the franchise titled Avatar: Seven Havens. This announcement comes as part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the iconic series, Avatar: The Last Airbender.

The creators of the original series, Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, are at the helm of this new venture. Avatar: Seven Havens will be a 26-episode, 2D animated series that introduces us to a young Earthbender who steps into the role of the next Avatar after Korra. Set in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm, the series promises a gripping narrative where the new Avatar is seen not as a savior, but as a potential destroyer. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she, along with her long-lost twin, must unravel their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens, the last strongholds of civilization.

In their statement, Konietzko and DiMartino expressed their excitement about expanding the Avatarverse, saying, "When we created the original series, we never imagined we’d still be expanding the world decades later. This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters."

Avatar: Seven Havens will be divided into two seasons, each consisting of 13 episodes, forming Book 1 and Book 2. The series is being co-created by DiMartino and Konietzko, alongside executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. While the cast has yet to be announced, anticipation is already building for this new chapter in the Avatar saga.

This marks the first mainline TV series from Avatar Studios, who are also busy developing a full-length animated movie centered around Aang. Scheduled for a theatrical release on January 30, 2026, the movie will explore a new adventure featuring an adult Aang.

As part of the 20th anniversary festivities, Avatar Studios is also rolling out a range of new books, comics, concerts, toys, and even a game on Roblox, ensuring that fans have plenty of ways to celebrate this significant milestone in the Avatar universe.
