Atuel is an immersive experience centered around the Atuel River Valley in Argentina, a region renowned for its natural beauty yet deeply impacted by climate change. Players assume the role of various animals and elements within the ecosystem, transforming into parts of the landscape to explore its intricacies. One moment you might soar through the skies, while the next, you flow as the river itself.
The game seamlessly blends real-world interviews with historians, biologists, geologists, and local residents, offering insights into the region's history, current state, and the future shaped by climate change. Collaborating with The 12.01 Project, an international documentary team, Matajuegos brings these compelling narratives to life. The game’s visual design, inspired by the Cuyo desert, creates a surreal and ethereal atmosphere that sets it apart.
While pre-registration opens on Android, interested players can visit the Steam page or the official website for additional details. Upon its mobile release, Atuel will feature localization in seven new languages and full controller support.
Stay tuned for more updates on Atuel and other exciting releases like Grand Mountain Adventure 2, an open-world ski and snowboard game.
