Astro Bot's latest update brings five exciting new challenge levels, each featuring unique special bots to discover. For the first time ever, two of these collectible characters represent a previously absent franchise beloved by PlayStation fans.
Without spoiling the surprise, you'll encounter one of these special bots during the "High Inflation" challenge level, while the second awaits those who conquer all five new Vicious Void Galaxy challenges and rescue every hidden bot.

The update introduces Final Fantasy VII's legendary duo: Cloud as the reward for completing "High Inflation" and Sephiroth as the ultimate prize for mastering all five new challenges. This marks Final Fantasy's long-awaited debut in Astro Bot's universe.
Fans have eagerly anticipated Final Fantasy representation since Astro Bot launched with 173 PlayStation-inspired bots. The absence of FFVII characters - iconic to PlayStation's history across both original and remake versions - previously puzzled players. Developers had cited publisher partnerships as the determining factor, suggesting Square Enix's previous reluctance that now appears resolved.
Beyond Midgar's heroes, this update delivers more Square Enix representation: Nier Automata's 2B and Chrono Cross' Serge join as rescue targets, alongside Ghost of Yōtei's Atsu (already announced).
Team Asobi continues supporting Astro Bot with these quality updates following its spectacular launch performance. The platformer sold 1.5 million copies within two months and earned our 9/10 review score, praised as "a fantastically inventive platformer that especially resonates with PlayStation enthusiasts."
