Studio Wildcard has recently revealed an extensive content roadmap for ARK: Survival Ascended, outlining nearly two years of planned updates. Launched in early access in late November 2023, this remaster of the popular survival crafting game ARK: Survival Evolved has been receiving regular updates to enhance player experience.
On January 11, Studio Wildcard, based in Redmond, Washington, released an updated roadmap for ARK: Survival Ascended, which extends until late 2026. The first major update on the agenda is a technical patch scheduled for March 2025, transitioning the game to Unreal Engine 5.5. This upgrade promises significant performance enhancements and the reintroduction of Nvidia's frame generation, which was temporarily removed in late 2024 due to engine issues.
Period | Content |
---|---|
March 2025 | ASA Unreal Engine 5.5 update. |
April 2025 | Free Ragnarok Ascended, Bison (Free Creature), and a Fantastic Tame. |
June 2025 | A new premium map (to be announced). |
August 2025 | Free Valguero Ascended with a community-voted free creature, and Fantastic Tame. |
April 2026 | Free Genesis Ascended Part 1 & Bob's True Tales Part 1. |
August 2026 | Free Genesis Ascended Part 2 & Bob's True Tales Part 2. |
December 2026 | Free Fjordur Ascended with a community-voted free creature. |
2026 | 3 Fantastic Tames spread throughout the year. |
The transition to Unreal Engine 5.5 will also allow for a restructuring of the game's data, enabling players to download individual ARK: Survival Ascended DLC packs. This selective download option aims to reduce the overall install size of the game. In April 2025, players can expect new content, including a Fantastic Tame and a free Bison creature.
A new premium map, set to be released in June 2025, will be available as paid DLC. Further details about this map are expected to be announced in early spring. In August 2025, another Fantastic Tame and a community-voted free creature will be introduced.
In 2026, Studio Wildcard plans to focus on remastering the Genesis expansions from ARK: Survival Evolved. Genesis: Part 1 is scheduled for April 2026, followed by Part 2 in August 2026. Both parts will coincide with the release of segments of Bob's True Tales, a new content series previously announced as part of the game's season pass. A remastered version of the Fjordur map is set to be released in December 2026 as a free update. Additionally, three more Fantastic Tames are planned throughout 2026.
While the roadmap provides a broad overview of future updates, Studio Wildcard may have additional surprises in store for players in the coming years.
