This marks the first time the story will be explored through a mobile gaming experience. Alongside this announcement, an official X account for the game was launched, promising to keep fans updated as the release approaches.

Details on the gameplay are still scarce, but it's been confirmed that Made in Abyss: A Difficult and Mysterious Journey will be a casual mobile title, available initially on Android and iOS platforms, though only for the Japanese market. Exploring the Abyss

For those unfamiliar with the franchise, Made in Abyss originated as a manga in 2012, crafted by Akihito Tsukushi and serialized on Web Comic Gamma. The story centers on Riko, a young orphan from the town of Orth, which encircles the mysterious and dangerous Abyss—a vast, vertical chasm filled with ancient technology, bizarre creatures, and untold secrets that consume explorers.

Riko's ambition is to emulate her mother, Lyza, a renowned White Whistle Cave Raider who vanished into the Abyss. On her journey, Riko encounters Reg, a mysterious half-robot boy with amnesia, and together they embark on a perilous descent into the Abyss, aware of the high stakes of their adventure.

The franchise has expanded beyond manga, with an anime adaptation in 2017 and a sequel film, Dawn of the Deep Soul, released in Japan in 2020. Additionally, Chime Corporation brought the story to consoles and PCs with the 2022 RPG, Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness.
