The anticipation for Pokémon TCG's upcoming release, Destined Rivals, is palpable. As collectors and players, we're all preparing our shelves and mentally budgeting, though we know full well that an Elite Trainer Box might just be too tempting to resist. This set is packed with exciting features, including the return of Trainer's Pokémon, another round with Team Rocket, and some of the most stunning card art we've seen in years. Whether you're chasing those flashy collectibles or simply love the thrill of new cards, Destined Rivals promises to deliver that cardboard power rush we all crave.
The Pokémon Center website has been through what can only be described as "mysterious" maintenance, now open for preorders. If that doesn't work out, keep an eye on Amazon, Target, Best Buy, and other major retailers, where listings are expected to go live any moment. It's like Black Friday for battle decks, so get ready to refresh those pages!

When Does Destined Rivals Officially Launch?
Mark your calendars for May 30, 2025, when Destined Rivals will officially hit the shelves. Pre-release events are scheduled between May 17 and 25, featuring Build & Battle boxes and early access tournaments. If you're eager to get in on the action, check with your local league store now—perhaps with a little bribery in the form of snacks!
What Products Will Be Launching With This Set?
We all tell ourselves we'll just buy one item and be done. It's a comforting lie, much like promising to hit the gym three times a week. Here's what you can expect to see when Destined Rivals launches:
Booster Packs
Booster Boxes (36 packs)
Elite Trainer Box
Pokémon Center Exclusive Elite Trainer Box
Booster Bundle (6 packs)
Triple-pack blisters
Build & Battle Box
Build & Battle Stadium
Special collection boxes featuring alternate art promos, especially with characters like Cynthia, Misty, Ethan, or Marnie, are also likely. You don't need them, but you'll convince yourself otherwise.

Destined Origins Cards I’ve Got My Eye On
There's a good chance I'll end up with multiple binders full of these cards, but a few have already made it onto my mental wishlist:
Cynthia’s Garchomp ex: A powerhouse card that embodies Champion energy with its high damage output and hand draw ability. I want three of these.
Ethan’s Ho-Oh ex: A stunning blend of utility and aesthetics, accelerating Fire Energy and healing your team while dealing 160 damage. It's an obsession.
Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex: Dramatic and demanding, it only attacks if you've built a Rocket-themed deck, but the payoff is worth it. Its extra flair is something I admire.
Misty’s Psyduck: A card that's here to bring joy and perhaps a few losses with its quirky ability to discard itself to the top of your deck. It's perfect in its own way.
Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex: Perfect for those who love to disrupt with an aggressive Dark-type build, thriving on energy acceleration. It's a throwback to 2020 that I'm excited to revisit.
