Pikmin Bloom Adds Day of the Dead Event

Pikmin Bloom is set for a vibrant celebration this October with a special Day of the Dead event. Also known as Día de Muertos, it brings the rich traditions of the Mexican holiday into the game.

Día de Muertos is a Mexican festival held on November 1st and 2nd. Families honor departed loved ones with ofrendas, flowers, photographs, favorite foods, parades, music, and ornate calavera artwork.

Pikmin Bloom is kicking off the festivities early. The in-game event runs from October 1st through October 31st, 2025. Here’s a complete look at everything planned for the celebration.

New Pikmin, of course!

The event debuts the Calavera Decor Pikmin. You can earn them by completing special Event Challenges. Finishing these missions also grants random rewards, including Flickering Candles. These are seedlings that grow into Calavera Decor Pikmin, provide flower petals, or offer other bonuses.

Whenever the central Big Flower blooms, it guarantees a Gold Seedling alongside the random loot. Seedlings collected this way can grow into one of seven distinct Calavera Decor Pikmin variations.

As with other Pikmin Bloom events, mushroom battles are a key part of the Day of the Dead festivities. You’ll encounter Colorful Mushrooms that drop Mystery Boxes, which can contain items like Flickering Candles.

Calavera Decor Pikmin are especially effective against these mushrooms, making them ideal for your battle squad. On weekends, Giant Colorful Mushrooms will appear. They drop rarer Mystery Boxes and let you use the Mushroom Battle Bullhorn up to three times per day.
